Lidija
Biography
As educated as a classical singer, Lidija gave some new colour to pop music. She started her solo career in pop music when she was only 14. She made her first steps in the music business in the festivals "Beogradsko prolece" in 1983 and "Opatija" in 1984, under the name of Mala Lidija (Little Lidija). She then released her first album Jos sam mlada (I'm still young). In the meantime, Lidija was still growing up. She finished school for classical solo singing with professor Milojko Pajevic. She also finished her English lessons in the Belgrade University.
Up to now, Lidija recorded three albums and many of her singles were hits. Cooperation with composer Dragan Brajevic and Dejan Abadic brought her glory on the Yugoslav pop scene. Pitanje casti (Question of honour), this year's Yugoslav entry for the OGAE Song Contest, is taken from her brand new album.
Original lyrics Pitanje casti

K'o crne pahulje snega
Pada mrak
Jos jedna noc ceka bozji znak
Da skloni sunce sa neba kao trag
K'o gresna duga sto sakriva pad

Bojim se da priznam koliko te volim
Bojim se da priznan da mislim na tu
Srce cu da izdam i suze da brojim
Pre nego ti priznam da volim te jos

Ne trazi me
Pokazace vreme
Da li je ljubav za tebe i mene
Ne trazi me
Umirimo strasti
To nije hir
Vec pitanje casti!
Ne trazi me...
English lyrics Question of honour

Just like in dark snowflakes
The night falls
Another night awaits the good sign
To move away the sun from its path
Just like a sinful soul's hiding its fall

Afraid to admit how much I love you
Afraid to say I still think of you
I'd rather betray my heart and count my tears
Than confess my love for you

Don't try to find me
Time will show
If love's for you and me
Don't reach for me
Let's calm our passion down
That's not a caprice
But a question of honour!
Don't try to find me...
