John Walsh studied at the Royal
Academy of Music. His musical style mixes a classical background
with rock and pop. He began his career as a song arranger and
session musician whilst also working on music for television
commercials for brands such as Pepsi, Baileys and Eircell. He has
composed widely for television and film over the last few years.
His compositions include the title music to television programmes
"The Premiership", "Rebellion" and "The World Cup".
He arranged the traditional piece The Homes of Donegal
for a television commercial for Donegal catch fish and the highly
acclaimed arrangement was released as a CD on Tara Records. The
haunting vocal on the CD which features The Homes of
Donegal and Strong enough is Roisin O'Reilly, a
recording artist with Universal.
