Biography
Marc Lavoine was born in August 1962 in the suburbs of Paris. As early as his teenage years, he got the conviction that he would later work in the field of arts but still hesitated between acting and singing. His acting career began in 1981 when he first appeared in the TV series "Pause-Café" (Coffee break, a series that was quite successful with teenagers). But he had a more significant role in 1994 when famous director Claude Chabrol offered him a part in his film "L'Enfer" (Hell), co-starring the famous French actress Emmanuelle Béart. However, Marc Lavoine is essentially known as a singer in France. His first single was released in 1983 but success came in 1984 with the second one, Pour une biguine avec toi (For a biguine dance with you), and even more so with his first big hit Elle a les yeux revolver (She's got gun eyes) in 1985. That same year, with his good looks (and big blue eyes) and his sweet romantic songs, Marc became a very popular singer among teenage girls. His first album Le parking des anges (The angels' car park) got released. It quickly got a commercial success. Up to now, he has recorded eight albums, some of them enjoying much success such as Les amours du dimanche (Sunday love affairs) in 1989 (300,000 sales), Lavoine Matic in 1996, Septième ciel (Seventh heaven) in 1999 (on which he worked with famous composers Jean-Jacques Goldman and Pascal Obispo) or the last one (untitled) in 2001. Almost twenty years in singing and writing and many duets with renowned French female singers (Catherine Ringer from the famous group Rita Mitsouko, Véronique Sanson, Princess Erika or Françoise Hardy) helped Marc in breaking his image as a shallow good-looking romantic boy. Marc Lavoine, who got married with a real princess, is now a big name on the French music scene.
His last duet is J'ai tout oublié (I forgot everything) with Cristina Marocco. She is a young Sicilian actress and singer who came on the forefront of the music scene thanks to this song. Her first single as a soloist, On s'en va (We're going away) will soon be released. She will also make a cover version of the popular song by Francis Cabrel Je l'aime à mourir (I love her/him to death). J'ai tout oublié was a smash hit in France last winter, reaching the no.1 of the saleslist in February, with 300,000 CD singles sold.

Je vis dans un monde qui n'existe pas ;

Comment dit-on bonjour ? Je ne sais plus.
Le parfum des beaux jours ? Je n'le sens plus.
Comment fait-on l'amour ? Si j'avais su...
J'ai tout oublié quand tu m'as oublié.
Comment faire l'amour ? Si j'avais su...
J'ai tout oublié quand tu m'as oublié.

Comment dit-on bonjour ? Je ne sais plus.
Le parfum des beaux jours ? Je n'le sens plus.
Comment fait-on l'amour ? Si j'avais su...
J'ai tout oublié quand tu m'as oublié.
Comment faire l'amour ? Si j'avais su...
J'ai tout oublié quand tu m'as oublié...
English lyrics I forgot everything

I live quite near from here, or maybe somewhere else?
I can't recognize my life; sometimes I'm afraid of myself.
I live in a world that does not exist;
Without you I'm not completely myself.

Quite near from here, I lost what I was:
My name doesn't mean a thing to me,
Neither on the pictures nor on the documents.
People can call me so-and-so if they like:
Without you, no matter who calls me.

How to say hello? I don't know anymore.
The fragrance of the fine days? I can't smell it anymore.
How to make love? If I knew about it...
I forgot everything when you forgot me.
The sweet velvet words? I can't write them anymore.
And I've lost my sense of humour.
How to make love? If I knew about it.
I forgot everything when you forgot me.

Suite near from here i tried to come back
To reassemble my thoughts, to make them new.

I had my hair cut, I hugged the walls.
What I do I'm not sure about it.

I forgot everything when you forgot me...
